If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
Proverbs 19:21:
“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.”
Coincidentally, I found my old note from 2019 where I had written my life plan from 2019 to 2027.
Surprisingly, my goal has been accomplished for 2026 to 2027, not because my plan worked but because Lord made it happen.
Let me explain. In 2019, I was a mid-level employee doing a job that didn’t really fit into my ultimate career goal, which is to research and develop AI.
Nevertheless, I wrote in my planner that I will be an AI researcher and developer by 2027 and be a high-level employee. I am not going to say which job or organization for privacy reasons.
In 2022, my first baby arrived, so I had to put my AI study into a halt because it takes a lot of time and energy and I needed to help out with taking care of the baby.
In 2024, we had another baby. But this time, both my wife and I knew what to do and how to take care of a baby better, so I chose to go back to the graduate school to finish my study.
In my planner, I didn’t plan on going back to graduate school, because I already have a masters degree. It just wasn’t in the field of AI. I chose to pursue another degree, because I really wanted to understand how the AI worked and how to develop it. I wasn’t really planning on using the degree to get a new job at the time.
Fast forward, I’ve received my master’s degree and I was able to apply for the job that I wanted to become an AI researcher and developer. Also, with this new job, I am making twice as I used to make.
Since 2019, I didn’t achieve any of the milestones that I had written in my plan, but somehow I was able to achieve my goal in the end.
What I want to say is that the Lord directs our steps and will lead us to the direction of our lives. We may make plans but ultimately it is He who decides and makes it happen.
It is very important to believe in the Lord.
Without Him, I am nothing and I can do nothing to accomplish anything.
I am thankful that all my family is healthy and we are able to live with abundance and do what we want to do.
It is all according to His Plan and everything is His Blessing.
