Studying October 7 terrorism – why preparation for war prevents one

It’s getting closer to this year’s October 7th, which marks three years since the most devastating terrorist attack against Jewish people in Israel.

When you do deep research on the attack, you’d feel even more horrified by the fact that most victims were actually pro-palestanian liberal people who had opened their doors to Palestinians in Gaza before the attack.

Those victims had treated the Gazans with more respect and kindness than anyone and yet, they were brutally r*ped, murdered, and tortured including kids and babies as young as 8 months old.

Most of these people didn’t even have guns. A lot of these people just wanted to dance at a music festival or sit at a table enjoying a peaceful breakfast with their families right before the attack.

I’ve gone through numerous evidence of the attack including the videos that were filmed by the terrorists themselves. I take no joy in them but it’s important to see the reality for what it truly is.

The terrorists don’t care if you are a good person or a peaceful person. Actually, they prefer that you are one so that you are naive and vulnerable to their savagery. The more you close your eyes to their brutality, the better because you are ill prepared to defend yourself.

The terrorists and their supporters had infiltrated their victims’ homes based on the knowledge they obtained while they were pretending to be friendly workers and neighbors. The terrorists had mapped out every location and knew which houses to go to and how many people were in them.

Imagine knowing full well that there will be kids and babies and still carry out the attack specifically targeting them. Again, Hamas terrorists and their Gazan supporters (civilians) committed the most heinous crimes against those children. They knew how vulnerable they were and they targeted them because of their weakness.

Now, let’s look at the IDF bases near that place and how ill-prepared they were on October 7. There were only pitifully weak fences on the border between Gaza and Israel. You could just ram into it with a vehicle and you could get inside, which they did.

There were also not enough IDF soldiers to respond to such attack even though it was the closest place from their hostile enemy, Hamas terrorists, in Gaza. It’s like they believed that the tiny fences would convince Hamas terrorists not to attack them.

A lot of those IDF soldiers did fight bravely with honor. But if there were more of them on the border, this attack would have never happened.

And this brings my next point. If you want peace, prepare for war.

As simple as it sounds, all of these wars and tragedies would have never happened if the IDF and Israelis had followed this one simple rule; prepare for war and you can probably prevent one.

Now, the war itself is not the fault of Israel or Israelis. They did not ask for this war, but they were dragged into it by Hamas terrorists and they must finish it by completely eradicating the remaining terrorist members in Gaza. It’s that simple.

There is no moving forward without solving the old problem. The perpetrators must know they will pay the full price of their terrorism. Hamas must pay, and Israel must make sure of that. Otherwise, these terrorists and their supporters will keep coming back in the future.

Throughout history, you see this type of tragedy countless times. People who live peacefully but ill-prepared for war eventually get attacked by their neighboring forces. It’s not because they did anything wrong but it’s because they were vulnerable.

Being vulnerable as a nation is the biggest crime against its citizens, because it invites attackers like Hamas terrorists to take advantage of that vulnerability.

If you want peace, prepare war.

I keep saying this as a reminder, and hopefully Israel including its peace-loving liberal citizens would remember this rule as well for their own sakes.
